Forsus™
A fixed appliance used with braces to correct significant overjets in growing patients.

Forsus delivers gentle, continuous force to improve the relationship between the upper and lower teeth — without headgear and without relying on your child to remember elastics.
How Forsus works
Forsus attaches directly to the braces and works continuously as your child talks, eats, and sleeps. It’s commonly used for Class II bites, where the upper teeth sit too far ahead of the lower teeth, and can improve both the bite and facial balance as treatment progresses.
Why we use it
- Works continuously — no appliance to put in or take out
- No headgear — everything stays inside the mouth
- Low-profile design — positioned toward the back of the teeth
- Less dependent on compliance — helpful when elastics alone may not provide enough correction
- Combined with braces — lets your orthodontist coordinate tooth movement and bite correction together
Is Forsus right for your child?
Forsus is most often used in growing teens with a significant overbite or Class II bite. Your orthodontist will determine whether Forsus, elastics, growth modification, or another approach offers the most predictable result.
