Vivera Clear Retainers

What it is

Vivera retainers are clear, removable, and made by the makers of Invisalign from an iTero scan taken after treatment. They look like an aligner and are almost invisible when worn.

Care

Daily. Rinse under cool or lukewarm water every time you take it out or put it back in. Brush gently with a soft brush or ultrasonic cleaner and an antimicrobial clear aligner cleaner — avoid toothpaste, which is abrasive and can scratch and dull the clear plastic.

A few times a week. Soak in a retainer cleaning solution made for clear aligners for a deeper clean, then rinse well.

Avoid. Hot water and the dishwasher (heat warps the fit), mouthwash soaks (dyes and alcohol can tint the plastic), and bleach or denture cleaner. Keep it in its case whenever it’s out of your mouth.
